    OMG published 4 years ago a paper on data residency:

    I'd be interested (I co-chair OMG's Cloud Working Group) in a joint effort to update the paper. In addition to news such as what Alberto posted, we should take into account the implications of GDPR, and the evolution of laws and regulations in other countries since 2017. OMG also received an inquiry last week about the evolution of residency/sovereignty laws regarding oil and gas data; I replied that we haven't looked at this since the original paper, but that there are certainly more countries than the two mentioned in it (Russia and Venezuela) that impede the work of multinational companies (and their contractors) by forcing such data to be stored and processed in-country. Which, depending on your viewpoint, is an issue or an opportunity... ��

     

    If some people on this forum are interested, please browse our paper and let me know what you think. And if there is equivalent work already done by CSA that I'm unaware of, please tell me.
