    Hi Everyone:  I am excited that we have published this handbook.  I thought you might find it interesting. It was written to help people understand the problems that Cloud Misconfiguration can cause. Please let me know @Sivia Van Gundy what you think. Link is here: https://resources.fugue.co/engineers-handbook-on-cloud-security

    <rant>

    I'm afraid I WILL NOT be downloading this, please STOP doing this if you genuinely want people to review this.

    Fact: 90% plus  of vendor published "guides" are thinly veiled  product marketing pitches (after all it marketing that pays for these to be produced) else it's your myopic view on the problem space - ooh that guess what - our product will magically solve.

    Fact: Well over 60% of people faced with this type of request, walk away and do not download - me included

    The Cloud Security Alliance output is free to simply download, therefore posting your document in this way is at odds with this the values of this organisation - STOP IT please.

    Finally, understand that DATA has Value, my personal data has value, you are offering me a potentially useless document and expecting me to "pay" for it sight unseen.

    Hi Paul,
    Thank you so much for your comments. I apologize for raising your blood pressure a bit!  I just wanted to let you know that, before posting I sent the Cloud Security Engineers Handbook off to the CSA team to make sure they would approve of it being posted.  Fugue, tends to create a lot of educational material that does not push Fugue, as our agenda is only to educate security and DevSecOps engineers on the "hidden risks" of cloud misconfiguration.  If you were to take a look at the handbook, you would see that it is product agnostic.  Thank you.

    Paul, I am also in marketing. I appreciate and understand your rant. I do want to let you know that many, many marketers like myself are trying to end the perception that marketing content is just a long product brochure. I can't speak for the poster, but when I develop guides like this, it's done with extensive marketing research, customer interviews, and often analyst commentary in consideration. I'm also trained and certified on technologies that I write about (in many cases).

    While I don't think that the poster should have offered it behind a paywall, please go easy on us. We are battling a historic failure when business could afford to write fluff because there wasn't as many technology choices as there are today. I did download this piece, and it's great. I hope you'll give vendor material a chance, I can promise you were are trying to educate and inform.
