    Colleagues,

Today, the Administration released OMB Memorandum M-22-09, "Moving the U.S. Government Toward Zero Trust Cybersecurity Principles," which serves as a roadmap for transitioning the federal government to a new cybersecurity paradigm. This final product has benefited greatly from both the technical advice and insights received from experts in this field.

While a great deal of thought and effort has gone into this strategy, it is only a first step in the work ahead. We know the federal government's transition to a zero trust architecture won't be quick or easy-but we also recognize that these steps are crucial for updating and strengthening information security norms throughout the federal enterprise.
