FedRamp just published the "Emerging Technology Prioritization Framework" for Comment
FedRAMP is establishing a framework for prioritizing emerging technologies (ETs) for FedRAMP authorization. This framework will enable routine and consistent
prioritization of the most critical ETs needed for use by Federal agencies. This prioritization will control how FedRAMP organizes its own work and review processes, and will not address how sponsoring agencies manage their own internal priorities.
This document describes the operational framework to prioritize certain Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) that include specific ETs in their system during the FedRAMP authorization process, how FedRAMP will govern and evaluate this new process, and details about the first prioritized technology (generative AI). Importantly, the prioritization process will be integrated on top of existing FedRAMP Authorization paths and will not create new pathways for authorization.
