I have worked with AI quite a bit. I was a Principal Architect in 2000 at a German company Lion Bioscience, we had a neural network that would predict the effect of an arbitrary small molecule. We received data for the models from large pharmaceutical companies such as Bayer, Schering and Roche. From a military perspective, this technology could be highly dangerous. Also, there are many bioinformatics and other Life Sciences software that are open sourced and could be used to create chemical or biological weapons. Should this type of technology be governmentally reserved and for eyes only?
