Subject: EARLY RELEASE - Confidence in Post-Quantum Algorithms
The Quantum-Safe Security working group is ready to release their next document, Confidence in Post-Quantum Algorithms, and it is attached for early release. The general release and an associated blog post is tentatively scheduled for 2/25.
Description of the document:
The world is moving closer to the standardization of new cryptographic algorithms to resistant attacks from future large-scale quantum computers. It is hoped that this document will spark additional reflection about the analysis of post-quantum cryptography and future directions of research.
This paper includes..
- An overview of public key cryptography today
- Overview of publications on quantum-resistant cryptographic done to date
- Categorizations of cryptanalytic publications and the amount of research done in each area
