Ok, my research this week indicated that NO, Tampa [I like to call it the Tampa Tech Coast] official CSA folded, so we don't have one now.
THE GREAT NEWS is that I am confident that we have an official chapter very early in the year! The requirement are that we have five dedicated officers, twenty members and a sustainability strategy. From this forum alone we certainly could meet the 20 members criteria and some may step forward to be officers. Becoming a member is very easy and free, just fill out the form at https://cloudsecurityalliance.org/membership/contact. Please contact me at [email protected] when you become a member so that I can add you to the interested members list; express if you would like to play a membership role.
To ensure success, I am organizing a meeting next month of representatives of the major CSPs, CSP client entities, CPA and consulting firms, and university cybersec programs to discuss the chapter [re]formation, secure their commitment for support and to develop the sustainability strategy to ensure that the chapter does not fold again.
For the record, I was a charter board member on the original Tampa Bay chapter, but, unfortunately, only stayed on it for a couple of years.
Please join me in this truly exciting and worthwhile initiative!!!
