Agentic AI: A Simple Breakdown
Imagine a team of workers in a company, where each worker has a specific role. These workers don’t work randomly—they follow a structured hierarchy where a manager assigns tasks, and each worker knows exactly what to do and how to do it.
Agentic AI works the same way. Instead of human workers, we have AI agents—each with a specific function—and they work together under a central Director Agent that manages their tasks.
The Director Agent (Like a Team Lead)
- The Director Agent is the "brain" of the operation.
- It receives instructions from the human (Manager).
- It knows which agents exist and what they can do.
- It assigns tasks to the right agents and coordinates their work.
2. The Research Agent (Like a Data Analyst)
- When the Director Agent needs information, it tells the Research Agent to search for it.
- The Research Agent uses tools like search engines, databases, or Maltego to find the required data.
- Once the research is done, it reports back to the Director Agent.
3. The Writer Agent (Like a Report Writer)
- The Writer Agent takes the raw data from the Research Agent and organizes it into meaningful information.
- It summarizes findings, removes irrelevant data, and makes sure everything is clear and well-structured.
- It then sends the organized information back to the Director Agent.
4. The Output Agent (Like a Publisher)
- The Director Agent tells the Output Agent to create a final document.
- The Output Agent asks:
- "How should the output be structured?"
- "What format should it be in (text file, JSON, report, etc.)?"
- Once it knows what to do, it generates the final output and saves it on the system.
