Regarding AI, the Object Management Group's Cloud Working Group (www.omg.org/cloud), which I co-chair, is considering adding a white paper on "AI in the Cloud" to its roadmap for 2024. Sounds like a match made in heaven, doesn't it?
I welcome expressions of interest to contribute to this. Two important points:
- Membership in the OMG CWG is currently open to all and free.
- Contributions can be as small or as big as you want. We'll probably start with some brainstorming on what is in the scope of such a paper. When the person who suggested this work item said "AI in the Cloud," she probably meant "AI as a service" but again, what does this exactly mean and include? I think many of you would have some excellent ideas about this. After that, co-authors could help beef up the outline, write some parts of the document, review and comment the parts written by others, suggest references, etc. -- depending on your expertise and available time.
Please write to me at [email protected] if you wish to be involved or at least informed. And I am of course willing to speak to members of the CSA AI WGs who might want to know more about who we are and what we do.
Thanks.

Subject: IMPORTANT! Launch of CSA's AI Working Groups
The day has finally come. We are happy to announce the kick off to the Artificial Intelligence work streams and the introduction of our four official working groups under the AI umbrella. Below, please click on the working groups you wish to register for. You will then be provided access to following meetings after initial registration. Meetings kick off the week of October 30 for three of the groups. The AI controls group is TBD, but be on the lookout for updates on that one from the respective owners.
Please join one group or all, based on your interest or expertise in the given area. We will be in full force moving forward to get releases lined up and completed. I will be posting working group descriptions this week, as well as topics of interest, and a light agenda that may be changed over the coming weeks.
Official call to action will also be pushed out to the outside community within the next week, as well as more posted content relating to the AI initiative.
We look forward to meeting everyone, and working on securing the future of AI usage.
