  • 1.  Managing Non-Human Identity Threats in the Age of GenAI

    Posted Mar 21, 2025 07:34:00 AM

I recently wrote an article on Managing Non-Human Identity Threats in the Age of GenAI as part of a new AI Cyber Magazine publication that was launched this week.

The coming together of Non-Human Identities used by GenAI systems like LLM models and AI agents is a very interesting development. In the article we describe what NHIs are, their challenges and risks and how they affect security as AI systems become more widespread.

In the article I focus on 3 key threats :
    - Unauthorised Identity and Access Manipulation
    - Adversarial Attached on AI Models
    - Data Privacy and Security Risks

The future of AI-driven NHIs will undoubtedly transform industries and redefine the digital ecosystem but addressing their inherent security challenges is critical to their long-term success.

Great insights Lalit! The way NHIs are evolving with GenAI is really interesting, but like you pointed out, their security risks are a big concern. With breaches increasing, weak access controls around NHIs can turn into a serious issue for organizations. A zero-trust approach with just-in-time secrets seems like the right way forward. Thanks for highlighting this important topic!

The concept of Non-Human Identities (NHIs) and their implications for security, especially in the context of AI-driven systems like LLMs and AI agents, is incredibly timely and important. I completely agree that as AI continues to evolve, addressing these security challenges will be key to ensuring their long-term success.
