Meeting summary for International Standards Council (ISC) Recurring Meeting (11/21/2024)
    Quick recap
John and Eric discussed the progress of a working group call, the topic of operational resilience, and the need to keep an eye on cloud standards.
John and Eric discussed the progress of a working group call on Operational Resilience, which Eric reported went well despite some concerns about the framework document getting too detailed. They also discussed the operational resilience topic and the need to keep an eye on cloud standards. Eric shared an analysis of various documents related to cloud standards and their interconnections, noting that some outdated references still exist.

Eric mentioned that he would be hosting the SE 27 meeting in DC in March.

Eric mentioned that there were some ballots running and some issues with 27017 and 27018 that needed resolution. He also mentioned that the call for 19086 part 4 had not gone out yet. He shared a slide deck to be distributed (attached).

Updates from OMG (They were not able to join the call)

    • OMG is meeting during the week of Dec. 9-13 in San Francisco.
    • The usual Cloud working Group update will be by teleconference on Wednesday 12/11 from 8 to 9 am Pacific time. The link is https://global.gotomeeting.com/join/629153901.
    • The discussion paper on "AI and Cloud Computing" was heavily edited (by me) and sent out for review. I will incorporate feedback received over the next two weeks (some has already arrived) and the final version will hopefully be voted on and approved for release by both the AI and the Middleware Task Forces. You can view the draft and enter comments or suggestions at https://docs.google.com/document/d/1CwObcw03mmYQgJ0IfqP6_EbPOjOUipBF/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=118337635789418127490&rtpof=true&sd=true
    • Because of the work this has required, the revised discussion paper on "Security in the Cloud" is not finished. It will probably be postponed to the March meeting.
    • Same with a proposed Standard Cloud Service Agreement Template.
