Bipartisan legislation was recently introduced to designate Space as the 17th Critical Infrastructure in the U.S. This will be the first to be added since Presidential Policy Directive (PPD 21) formalized the list of 16 Sectors, ten years ago.
It is also another step towards resilience, recognizing incidents happen and technical controls alone are not sufficient. Technology, people, process, and organization are key.
Many in the community believed it was only a matter of time after FDD (DC think tank) and the Cyberspace Solarium Commission 2.0 blessed the proposal.
