Informational presentation for the CSA Zero Trust working group.

AtSign Abstract: TCP/IP is fifty years old next year and it has changed the world, however it was far from perfect at launch. For nearly fifty years we have been adding security to IP networks and applications that provide islands of identity and data. All that complexity is increasingly becoming a security issue in its own right. Couple that with our personal information being smeared across services and we have seemingly no control and security is failing, even though privacy & security laws are catching up, technology seemingly has not.

As an industry we have being working on Zero Trust for networks and applications, but what about Zero Trust for people? That was the starting point for what became Atsign and the Open Source project behind it. How do we flip things and have the Internet log into you rather than you log into the Internet. How do you retain control of your data but share it with whom you want to privately? Through a universal abstraction layer and protocol for networking anything, what Atsign calls Networking 2.0, built on TCP/IP but only using TCP/IP for transport, it's a new perhaps radical approach.

In this session Colin will explain the concepts of Networking 2.0 and the technical implementation of the Open Source atProtocol®  and atSDK, and how it allows Zero Trust and private communications for People, Entities and Things. See the links below and Google “Networking 2.0” if you want more information before the session!
